Highlighting Key Ingredients

Our hair growth oil is a blend of powerful, ingredients known for their scientifically proven benefits in promoting hair growth and maintaining scalp health. Below, we highlight  the key ingredients that make our formula effective.

Ingredient Profiles

Peppermint Oil

Scientific Benefits: Peppermint oil has been shown to promote hair growth by inducing the early anagen phase (the active growth phase) in hair follicles. The primary active ingredient, menthol, increases blood circulation to the scalp, stimulating hair follicles and leading to increased follicle number and depth. Additionally, peppermint oil enhances the expression of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), a crucial biomarker for hair growth, and significantly boosts alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, which is important for hair follicle development and function.

Supporting Research: A study titled “Peppermint Oil Promotes Hair Growth without Toxic Signs” demonstrated that peppermint oil outperformed minoxidil (a well-known hair growth treatment) in promoting hair growth, increasing follicle depth, and enhancing IGF-1 expression, all without significant side effects. The study concluded that peppermint oil could serve as a safe and effective natural alternative for stimulating hair growth.Oh, J. H., et al. (2014). "Peppermint oil promotes hair growth." Pumpkin Seed Oil

Scientific Benefits: Pumpkin seed oil (PSO) is known for its rich content of essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and phytosterols, which play a critical role in promoting hair growth. It has been shown to inhibit the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, which reduces the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone linked to hair follicle miniaturization and androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness). Additionally, PSO's anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties help nourish the scalp and protect hair follicles from damage.

Supporting Research: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial demonstrated that men who took 400 mg of pumpkin seed oil daily for 24 weeks experienced a significant increase in hair count (mean increase of 40%) compared to the placebo group (mean increase of 10%). This study concluded that pumpkin seed oil is an effective and well-tolerated treatment for promoting hair growth in men with mild to moderate androgenetic alopecia.Hajheydari, Z., et al. (2014). Saw Palmetto

Scientific Benefits: Saw palmetto is a natural extract from the berries of the Serenoa repens tree, known for its antiandrogenic properties. It inhibits 5-alpha-reductase, an enzyme responsible for converting testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone linked to androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and hair follicle miniaturization. By reducing DHT levels, saw palmetto helps prevent hair thinning and promotes hair regrowth. It has also been shown to increase the activity of 3α-hydroxysteroid-dehydrogenase, which converts DHT to its weaker metabolite, androstanediol, further aiding hair growth.
Supporting Research: According to a systematic review of clinical studies, saw palmetto-containing supplements have demonstrated positive effects on hair growth. In one randomized clinical trial , saw palmetto increase hair count by up to 27% over 50 weeks. Another study showed that 60% of participants using saw palmetto supplements experienced improvements in hair quality and reduced hair loss. Moreover, it was well tolerated, with no significant adverse events reported. Natural Hair Supplement: Friend or Foe? Saw Palmetto, a Systematic Review in Alopecia August 23, 2020

        Lavender Oil

Scientific Benefits: Lavender oil has demonstrated significant hair growth-promoting effects, particularly through its ability to increase the number and depth of hair follicles, as well as enhance dermal thickness. The active compounds in lavender oil, such as linalyl acetate and linalool, promote the anagen (growth) phase of hair follicles, making it effective for stimulating hair growth. Additionally, lavender oil's anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties support scalp health, further aiding in hair regrowth.

Supporting Research: In a study involving C57BL/6 mice, lavender oil (at concentrations of 3% and 5%) was applied topically over a period of 4 weeks. The results showed a significant increase in hair follicle number, hair follicle depth, and dermal thickness compared to the control group. The study concluded that lavender oil has a marked hair growth-promoting effect, comparable to 3% minoxidil, a well-known hair growth treatment, but with fewer side effects. Lee, B. H., et al. (2016). "Hair Growth-Promoting Effects of Lavender Oil in C57BL/6 Mice." Toxicological Research.

            Eucalyptus Oil

Scientific Benefits: Eucalyptus oil, primarily composed of the active ingredient eucalyptol (1,8-cineole), has demonstrated significant penetration enhancement properties, making it highly effective for improving the absorption of both hydrophilic and lipophilic compounds through the skin. In addition to its permeation enhancement, eucalyptus oil offers antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant benefits, which are vital for maintaining scalp health and preventing infections that could hinder hair growth.

Supporting Research: A systematic review on essential oils confirmed eucalyptus oil’s ability to enhance drug permeation through the skin. It was found to outperform other essential oils like clove and peppermint in various pharmaceutical formulations aimed at deeper skin layers. This review also highlighted eucalyptus oil’s role in increasing the permeability of drugs across the stratum corneum, which is critical for delivering active ingredients directly to hair follicles.Systematic Review on the Effectiveness of Essential and Carrier Oils as Skin Penetration Enhancers
